A .earth domain name is a generic Top-Level Domain (gTLD) that ends in .earth. The .earth domain for sustainability gives a website a clear, memorable connection to the planet. It is especially relevant to environmental nonprofits, sustainability businesses, earth-science projects, mapping services, educators, outdoor brands, and global communities.

Anyone can apply for .earth domain registration; there is no geographic or industry eligibility requirement. Names are generally allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability, registry rules, and applicable terms. Standard names may be available at the listed rate, while premium names can have different registration and renewal fees.

No domain extension guarantees higher rankings. Google treats new generic top-level domains like .earth similarly to established gTLDs, and a keyword in the extension does not create a ranking advantage. A .earth domain registration can still help users understand your topic and remember your brand; rankings depend more on useful content, technical quality, links, and relevance.

Search for the name you want, choose an available result, create or sign in to your HostPapa account and complete checkout. After .earth domain registration, open the HostPapa Dashboard to manage the domain. Connect it to a website by assigning the required nameservers or DNS records, then add Web Hosting, SSL Certificates, and Business Email if your project needs them.

Unlock the domain at your current registrar, obtain the EPP or authorization code, and verify that the registrant email is current. Start the .earth domain transfer through HostPapa’s domain transfer flow and approve the confirmation request. Transfers may take up to seven days; start at least two weeks before expiry and check whether a 60-day transfer lock applies.

Yes. You can point a .earth domain to an existing website by updating its nameservers or DNS records, or connect it to new HostPapa hosting. You can also create branded addresses such as hello@[yourbrand].earth through a compatible email service. If you are changing registrars, a .earth domain transfer normally keeps the name itself; verify DNS settings to avoid service disruption.

Choose a .earth domain name when the planet, sustainability, geography or a global mission is central to the name and audience. Choose .com when broad commercial familiarity matters most, or .org when a nonprofit identity is the stronger signal. The extension should support your brand; it does not replace clear messaging, trustworthy content or a plan to renew the registration.
