In this article, we will give you an overview of the requirements for transferring or registering a .CO.UK, .ME.UK, or .ORG.UK domain at HostPapa.
How to register a domain name with HostPapa
You don’t need to be a resident or business operator in England to register a .UK, .CO.UK, .ME.UK, or .ORG.UK domain.
To check prices or register one of these domains, visit our domain page or purchase directly from your HostPapa Dashboard by clicking on My Domains, then Register New Domain to open a Secure Order Form.
How to transfer a domain name to HostPapa
Before you request to transfer your domain name to HostPapa, there are a few steps you should complete to ensure a smooth transfer:
- Contact your current domain registrar and ask them to change the IPS tag to PROMOPEOPLE. Some providers will do this through a control panel, but others will need a fax, email, or letter to make the change.
If you are not able to contact the current IPS tag holder, or if the tag holder will not change the tag, you can ask Nominet UK to change the tag for you. They will attempt to contact the tag holder for your domain. If they do not receive a satisfactory reply, they will change the tag themselves as described in their procedure.
- Our registrar, PROMOPEOPLE, will send an email to this address immediately after you purchase the transfer. Once the IPS tag is updated to PROMOPEOPLE, the .UK domain is transferred to us.
UK domains can be transferred even if they have expired up to 30 days ago, but we recommend that you have at least two weeks registration remaining on the domain name.
