Reseller hosting offers you the opportunity to set up your own web hosting business, under your own brand name. When you sign up for a reseller hosting account, you purchase an amount of disk space and bandwidth, which you may then divvy up and 'resell' to your own clients. You choose the account limits, space, and price you want to offer your clients – in other words, you’re in control!
Reseller hosting offers a number of benefits. If you are a web developer, you can host all of your own websites under one reseller account. You can sell web-hosting services to your own client base. You can give web-hosting accounts away to friends and family. A reseller account works in a number of different scenarios. With reseller hosting, you really can operate a web hosting business without investing in expensive infrastructure, servers, bandwidth and IT staff. It’s a great way to make a profit with relatively little risk or financial outlay!
While you do not need to be a web-hosting expert, having some basic knowledge of terms and procedures will definitely be an asset. Most resellers are web-hosting customers first, and that experience generally provides enough knowledge to get started. As a reseller, you will be the first point of contact for your customers and will provide support for them. Make sure you are comfortable with this position. (See question 7 for more on your responsibilities as a reseller.)
After you select and purchase your reseller account, you will have access to Web Host Manager (WHM), the reseller control panel. Through this interface, you will be able to easily create and manage packages for your customers.
Your customers will have access to a cPanel user control panel, through which they can create and maintain their own websites.

All reseller hosting accounts come with two separate control panels:
- Resellers Web Host Manager (WHM) allows you to create and manage your customer accounts;
- Your customers' cPanel will allow them to create and/or manager their websites.
Through WHM, it is quite simple to manage and create all subaccounts. You'll be able to:
- Set up cPanel for each of your customers
- Limit a subaccount's disk space, bandwidth
- Email all your reseller customers
- Change subaccount users' passwords
- Check server status
- Access your billing software
- Use domain sub-reseller account
- And much more
Your customers will be responsible for setting up their websites and managing their own accounts, which they may do through their cPanel control panel. cPanel will let them create and manage their websites and email accounts without needing your assistance.
You can host an unlimited number of domains, for as many customers as you’d like. The only limitation comes from the amount of disk space and bandwidth you have purchased with your reseller account. Individual account sizes and limits will be up to you to manage. If you need more space or bandwidth at any time, simply contact us to upgrade your account.

Not at all. You can add your own branding and position yourself as the web hosting service provider. In fact, your customers need never know that you are a HostPapa reseller. You may do this by specifying your own domain for the private nameservers (HostPapa offers a short video tutorial that will walk you through this simple process).
As a reseller, you provide support for your customers. You are responsible for all communications between yourself and your hosting customers – you are, after all, the business owner! You will have the ability to build your hosting website, set up your plans and pricing, install scripts, and fix certain aspects of your clients' sites.
Of course, HostPapa support is available, 24/7 to support you, the reseller. You may contact us any time for high-level technical or server issues. HostPapa is responsible for providing you with the disk space, bandwidth and features you need to resell, and we are always happy to help you with issues related to these items.
You are responsible for collecting payment from your clients, in the method of your choosing. Your HostPapa reseller account does include automated billing software, which you may take advantage of.
We will bill you automatically according to the terms and billing cycle you chose when you signed up. (For example, if you selected a monthly payment option, we will bill you monthly, starting on the date you signed up.)
Of course! You can upgrade your reseller hosting plan at any time, with no downtime. Simply open a support ticket through your HostPapa customer care center with your request.
Your HostPapa reseller-hosting package includes a domain name reseller account. This allows you to purchase and manage domain names for your clients.
