Customer Success Story: The CCSAI
Mathieu Yuill, the Communications Manager for the Centennial College Student Association Inc. (CCSAI), was so impressed with becoming a HostPapa customer in February of this year, that he wrote us to let us know how much he "appreciated all the help from the IT people," and how "the transition over to HostPapa has been exceptional." So, we spoke with him to find out a little more.
The CCSAI represents all full-time students at Centennial College, and the CCSAI's website is an invaluable tool for the organization, allowing it to communicate to an increasingly web-reliant audience, as well as promote its services and events.
According to Yuill, the CCSAI chose HostPapa because of HostPapa's commitment to the environment. "Every year the CCSAI invests over $100,000 in green initiatives and it's important to us that the companies we work with share this value," explains Yuill.
The CCSAI left its previous web host because of, in Yuill's words, "horrible customer service," and "a few IT problems that were never addressed."
"Before moving to HostPapa, I addressed these with your IT department," he says, "and they handled my issues with no problem."
The CCSAI's initial goals for its website were simple, and yet things its previous web host wasn't able to provide: uptime and access. "It's no good to us if the IP address serving our website is blocked by the college," he explains, "or if system maintenance prevents our site from being up."
And, so far, in addition to the uptime, access, and green factor, what's the CCSAI's favourite thing about HostPapa? "We really enjoy the back-end interface for administering things like e-mail addresses, databases, and FTP accounts. HostPapa's back end is one of the better ones out there, and we really like it."
The CCSAI has some exciting plans in the works for its website this fall. "We'll be relaunching our site with a whole new design," says Yuill. "We've hired 76design.com in Ottawa to develop a savvy interactive site that will include lots of movable widgets, user customization, and a community aspect. We're really excited about this.
"We're looking forward to keeping our site on HostPapa as both our site and amount of visits grow."
