HostPapa Customer Profile: MFT Solutions

Carlton Brown, a family therapist based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, signed up with HostPapa in December 2007 and was immediately impressed by, in his words, HostPapa’s “speed, competence, and friendly assistance.”

For the past two years, Brown had been hosting his site, www.mftsolutions.ca, with another web hosting provider, but had increasing concerns about the provider's security and felt limited by some of its policies.  So, he googled "web hosting providers" and found a list of the ten best hosts in Canada; HostPapa was number one!  He liked that our package provided him with more than enough memory, the PHP scripts and email options he needed, competitive rates, plentiful software and tools, not to mention the fact that HostPapa was local and 100% green.

While Brown considers himself to be a medium-level user in terms of web experience, he had never made a domain name server change before, and was pleasantly surprised with how "seamless" the transfer was.  When he had a couple of technical questions, he went onto our live chat function, and within a few minutes, one of our technical support experts had pointed him to precisely the information he required.  He was able to resolve his issue nearly immediately.  Brown also took our advice about making a small change on his homepage (something only he would really notice), so he'd know when his website transferred over to our servers.  "I was amazed at how quickly it happened," he says.  "It was within twelve hours… at the most."

Brown's long-term goals for MFT Solutions include using some of the tools HostPapa provides (like blogging software) and adding a mailing list.  He's looking forward to developing more online content – academic papers, tips, and resources – for both his current and prospective clients.
